Business, Financial and Organization Advisers
The Big EQ Campaign is in the process of building an advisory board to help guide our efforts to ally with and open doors to major sectors of the business and financial community in promoting and financing the Campaign. Advisers might contribute in other ways, such as with pro bono services. Among initial members are the following:
Founder and CEO of Bob Blake & Associates, Inc., which specializes in benefit management and supplemental insurance products for the public sector and for private non-profit businesses. A leader in the African-American business community, he is exceptionally well-connected to civic leaders in Southern California, the test-market for the Big EQ Campaign. He is also an officer in the regional chapter of the National Forum of Black Public Administrators.
Former Owner/Publisher/Chief Executive Officer of Silicon Valley Community Newspapers. Prior to that David was publisher of Metro Newspapers in San Jose, which he co-founded in 1985. Active in Silicon Valley civic and cultural affairs, he is spearheading the Big EQ’s efforts in Silicon Valley.
A teacher and mother who is an ardent activist for EQ and social-emotional learning in the Inland Empire region of California. She is a former steering committee member of The California Social-Emotional Learning Alliance.
Successful business entrepreneur especially helpful on operational issues and the outreach to major companies.
Former President and current board member of the Santa Clara County Board of Education in CA. and a former teacher, he is an ardent proponent of SEL in schools. Mr. DiSalvo supports a system of public education in which all students succeed and failure is not tolerated. He has focused on closing the racial achievement gap while increasing high school graduation and college going rates, especially for first generation college students and imprisoned students.
Publisher of Latino Leaders Magazine and himself one of the leaders of the Latino business community in the U.S and Mexico. Jorge is also a member of the Board of the New America Alliance, an American Latino business group, and PRIMER Network, a group of high profile Latino executives. He is also Board Member of The American Heart Association.

Beginning in Silicon Valley in the mid-1990s, Rafe has founded, invested in and advised dozens of startup companies and was a co-founder of Crowdfunder.com, a leader in equity financing online. His companies have generated over $1 billion in revenue and $450 million in liquidity to stakeholders. Currently he is focused on Quantitative Venture Capital, a nascent field based on the convergence of equity crowdfunding, complexity economics and securities law reform. He has helped raise millions of dollars for cancer prevention and other charitable causes.

Founder and CEO of Napalm Entertainment, which develops game-learning for educators and other games for private company clients. The company also provides technology to small and medium sized businesses and institutions, including mobile app solutions designed to expand outreach and efficiency and cross-platform development and integration on all operating systems from desktops to tablet devices and mobile devices. He is the Big EQ’s chief technology adviser.

Co-director of the Institute for Nonviolence in Los Angeles, based at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also Professor in the UCLA Graduate School of Education and Information Studies. Mr. Wilms works closely with inner city violence programs and is a strong supporter of school SEL programs as violence minimizers.
